Transport Minister's web chat

Q. Mary Taylor: When was the last time that you travelled on the train - as a passenger rather than a politician? Were you satisfied with the service?

Kim Howells replies: I travel on trains most days. My most frequent trip is from Pontypridd on the 7.27am to Cardiff where I change platforms and catch the 8.25am to Paddington. The day before yesterday I caught the 1.35pm from Paddington to Redruth in Cornwall and it arrived on time. I need the railway both as a Politician and as a member of the public who finds it easier to get in and out of Cardiff by Train than by any other mode of transport.
