A train announcement you might like the sound of:

Maybe, if we could hear the train annoucements at West Norwood station

South Central’s new name is Southern

Well, those announcements you can hear - at Victoria, for example, - sound like this.

"The train at platform 11 is the Sutton service to West Croydon..."

No, sorry. It's the "Southern service to West Croydon". Only it sounds like "Sutton service to West Croydon". All very confusing.

Managing Director Charles Horton said: "The transformation of South Central to Southern goes well beyond a fresh coat of paint. It is a declaration of our firm intent to continue our investment programme to become a different kind of train operator."

Hmm, new singage and paint. That makes a huge difference.

And, those refurbsihed trains? Lovely they are when nice and newly smelling. But, after a few days they're grubby and graffiti is already showing up, including the horrid practice of etching on windows. it's no good investing in refurbished stock if the interiors aren't properly cleaned and maintained.

Southern
Expect MORE

Well, I tempted to say "you couldn't get less..."
